AIS Technical Training Center

Licensing Course Series are in strict compliance with the American Society of Power Engineers. The licensiing topics are Steam, Power Generation, Heating Plants, Refrigeration/Air Conditioning, Pumps, Compressors, Electricity, Labor Law, Turbines and other Prime Movers, Boilers and Cooling Towers. The two licensing series that are offered are:

  1. Power Plant Operating Engineers Series
  2. Facility Operating Engineer Series

Power Plant Operating Engineers

Power Plant Operating Engineers apply to

  • Power stations, IPP (Independent Power Producers)
  • Industrial Power Plants (Generating Electricity)

There are four-levels to the Facilities Operating Engineer's Series with two being advance with supervisory and management ciriculums:

  1. Power Plant Operating Engineer Chief (Chief Engineer): Managment (Course #PPOE00)
  2. Power Plant Operating Engineer First Class: Supervisory/Managment (Course #PPOE1)
  3. Power Plant Operating Engineer Second Class: (Course #PPOE2)
  4. Power Plant Third Class (Stationary Engineer 3rd Class)  (Course #PPOE3)


Facilities Operating Engineers

Facility Operating Engineers typically come from

  • Universities & Hospitals
  • Government Facilties & Military Installtions
  • Office Buildings & Complexes
  • Commerial Manufacturing

There are three-levels to the Facilities Operating Engineer's Series:

  1. Facilities Operating Engineer First Class: Supervisory/Management (Course #FOE01)
  2. Facilities Operating Engineer Second Class (Course #FOE02)
  3. Facilities Operating Engineer Third Class: Entry Level - Fundementals (Course #FOE03)
